A customer might say 'no polymers' when they actually mean 'no synthetic plastic.' Paper is a polymer, but it is not a plastic, and it is not a replacement for a pressure-rated polymer pipe. Use precise language, or you'll get the wrong material sample.
I only need a small quantity. Will a distributor treat me like a real customer?
This one is personal. My first Celanese-related order was a sample order under $200. I half expected to be ignored. Instead, the distributor confirmed the product code, sent the SDS, and asked about the end-use application. That one order taught me more than any brochure. Since then, I've sent much larger orders to the suppliers who treated small batches seriously. Small doesn't mean unimportant; it usually means someone is testing before they commit.
